south east <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/london\/\">London<\/a> are without water this afternoon because of a burst water pipe.<\/p>\n<p>Houses have been evacuated after significant flooding closed Ilderton Road in Bermondsey at around 4.15am today.<\/p>\n<p>Thames Water said people in 12 postcode areas are without water while engineers try to fix the issue.<\/p>\n<p>A rest centre has been set up for residents who have been evacuated from their homes due to the flooding.<\/p>\n<p>One local resident called Ash said: ‘The water came all the way down the road, from the bridge all the way down to the train station.<\/p>\n<p>‘I’ve only ever seen this in a tsunami or a hurricane-like situation.’<\/p>\n<p To keep everyone safe, traffic management is in place while work is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>‘Most customers should begin to see their supply come back over the next hour or two.
