Ukrainian robots have captured Russian soldiers in a trailblazing operation after Vladimir Putin unleashed the heaviest strikes of the war<\/a> yet west of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Thank you to all the soldiers for their accuracy.<\/p>\n<p>‘This is a demonstrative attack, and right now, when there have been so many attempts to achieve peace, to cease fire, and only Russia rejects everything.’<\/p>\n<p>The widespread strikes come just hours after US President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/07\/08\/trump-complains-putins-bulls-ukraine-peace-talks-23613703\/\">slammed Vladimir Putin’s ‘bulls***’<\/a> as peace talks have failed to progress.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has also u-turned and <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/07\/08\/donald-trump-says-us-will-send-weapons-ukraine-putin-rejects-peace-talks-23607715\/\">pledged to resume sending weapons to Ukraine<\/a> after the country was \u2018hit very hard\u2019 by the Kremlin\u2019s missile and drone strikes in recent days.<\/p>\n<p>Kyiv said that the vast majority of incoming strikes were destroyed by their air defences, with 303 destroyed and 415 misfired and lost due to electronic warfare.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence said: ‘The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.’<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"646\" height=\"485\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"article-image wp-image-23616868 lazyload\" alt=\"Warehouses caught fire in Kyiv region as a result of a Russian missile and drone attack\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.airnetaccess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SEI_258373407-56b2.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Warehouses caught fire in Kyiv region following the Russian drone attacks (Picture: east2west news)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Lutsk suffered its worst attacks of the war, including the use of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.<\/p>\n<p>Ihor Polishchuk, the city’s mayor, said: ‘Today was the most mass enemy attack with the use of UAVs and missiles on our city and community.<\/p>\n<p>‘Fortunately, at this minute there is no information about the dead as a result of the enemy attack.<\/p>\n<p>‘Let’s give thanks to God! Anyone who wants peace must act.’<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine also hit Russia with limited strikes overnight, some of which led to the temporary closure of Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports in Moscow.<\/p>\n<p>Military targets in the Kursk border region were also hit, with Russia reporting two women were injured.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Got a story?
